Working as a Medical Secretary my workday tasks can vary between dealing with telephone enquiries, making telephone calls to GPs or patients, dealing with post, creating letters, putting out bank shifts, ensuring shifts are locked down so staff are paid, general admin duties.
I have taken on an escalation unit, where I assist the Admin Manager with managing the staff/shifts for ward clerks on there. This is something I had not done before and I have increased my knowledge and skill set.
I am very much enjoying my programme. I am doing very well and am quite far ahead of average and my tutor keeps up to date with me with regular reviews and feedback.
I feel that the course I am currently doing is very well organised and structured.
I receive a great amount of support from my employer. My colleague and managers assist me when I need to shadow others and/or take on new tasks.
I receive a great amount of support from my training provider. My tutor keeps up to date with me by having regular reviews and giving me clear and concise feedback.
I have further understanding in managing staff and I have been able to take on additional duties that I would not have been able to do prior to the course.

Great place to work.
It is definitely worth it. I have been given so much support from my employer and would not have been able to do this course without their support.
