  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am on an IFRS17 project that involves making sure the client is meeting the ifrs17 reporting standards. Day to day I am testing the input assumptions of the client to ensure that this is what they are reporting and are consistent. This involves working in excel and working closely with my team

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed skills in excel through extensive use during my work, this includes new shortcuts and ways of making my work easier. I have developed my communication skills in a professional environment as I keep in touch with the team I work with as well as updating the client.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy applying my skills to different tasks and being able to use the mathematics I learnt at university on a variety of different tasks. I enjoy the people I work with and becoming part of the team. I enjoy the variety of work and being able to try different areas

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is well structured and organised and has been throughout. Since I started there were many training days and different activities that we completed to get us used to the work environment. The program has been useful with plenty study days and the materials provided are useful and in depth.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is supportive in all the studying I do. My managers and mentors are accommodating with the time I get off to study and understanding of this. I get guidance from my study mentor who assists me in making decisions and organising my time scale in advance of exams.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From my training provider i get all study materials and tutorials. The tutorials are useful in gaining an understanding of the stage i am currently at and what i should be looking at in more depth. the materials are thorough and I have found the mocks and past papers most useful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • THe knowledge I gain by studying my qualification is useful during my day to day work. In particular I used the material i learnt last exam sitting to calculate the put and call prices of a specific client.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In the office we have had a few social activities after work and charity events during work.

  • Encouraging and motivating to continue studying and working towards my goals. Everybody is friendly and open. Get to work on a large variety of different projects.
