  • client facing role involving speaking to clients about their financial statements. working as part of a team to carry out audit testing on the financial statements. Carry out substantive and control tests in the form of analytical procedures to gain assurance over the numbers provided by management. Diverse portfolio of clients

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Excel skills have enhanced significantly due to day to day use of the software and learning complex formatting to manipulate data sets to present relevant data in a format which is useable and understandable for an auditor to read. Using graphs on excel to show trends and identify patterns in data when carrying out audit work

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i enjoy that not every week is the same. I could be working on multiple different sites around the country meeting new people and seeing the country through work. Provides the ability to have hands on experience whilst doing exams and adding value to myself as an individual overall. I enjoy the people i meet and work i do because it tests me in a variety of ways

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured, we are provided with a course programme with clear dates and courses are automatically booked for us and planned well in advance. They make sure they order course materials ie books, folders, question banks to be sent to home addresses prior to studies starting and making sure we are well equipped for the studies ahead,

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive alot of support form the employer ie if i have an exam they would let me finish at 5pm so i can carry out my revision in evenings also able to provide us with study/ annual leave ahead of our exams to have ample time to revise regardless of client commitments and understand that our exams are first priority.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • They provide direct access to a 24 7 hub whereby we can ask questions and normally have a next day turn around for our queries. They are regularly monitiored and have a quick turn around overall. They have tutors email addresses for us to reach out to for any direct queries and they always help and go above and beyond to make sure they address our query.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The exams are very relevant for my role and they provide technical knowledge which i can implement in my day to day work and improves my understanding overall. They teach relevant topics which tie in with daily tasks which ultimately help my overall progress in the field and industry of work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • i am part of the social committee whereby we organise socials for work and celebrations for teams achievements. we are able to have a budget and then go out and organise a social inline with the budget. I am also part of the office football team which is good as we play against other firms and get to meet new people regularly.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • great place to work with promising future prospects and providing a strong background in the financial sector which is more valuable than anything. Teaches you key techniques on how to operate effectively and promotes inclusivity whereby everyone is treated equally and fairly regardless of their beliefs, colour or religion. It is a meritocracy where people are rewarded for their actions when they do good.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • understand the role you are applying for and research the nature of daily tasks that will be required of you. Understand the work is intense but with it being the big 4 it is to be expected and in order to work with the best you need to perform at your best so making sure you give 100% commitment
