  • My day to day role consists of working stock. Managing employees and helping to make sure the shop is running smoothly and hitting its targets daily.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The main skill I have learnt is time management and communication. Both skills are vital in the day to day runnings of a shop. The skill I have developed on is problem solving. During my previous involvement with sport and being the captain of the hockey team I always had to solve problems quickly. Alongside this. Everyday is different in our shop and it's requires quick and efficient changes.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the fact that everyday brings new and exciting challenges. It's diverse and a quick paced environment.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The organisation has been poor. For the first year I wasn't on the programme due to a sign up issue. However the final year has been better organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager has been great support throughout my programme. I have been given lots of responsibility recently.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has been very helpful and fast to respond to my needs throughout. Any work sent is always returned with great feedback

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have gained lots of knowledge throughout my programme which has given me the confidence to use on the shop floor day to day. Even in regards to terminology, I am able to speak to my managers on a academic level in regards to management

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have organised a football team which play against another Aldi team, we meet a couple of times a month and play a friendly game.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The skills and confidence I have learnt I strongly believe Aldi is the only employer that has allowed me to excel in a retail environment. The skills I have excelled on have been time management and communication


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Always be yourself. Work to your best ability and always work your hardest. Pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone is the best chance to achieve the most
