My role on a day to day basis includes managing multiple inboxes, organising meetings, managing multiple manager's diaries, note taking in meetings, uploading resources onto websites and sending agendas & follow up notes (minutes). I help my team with their diaries and attend meetings for additional tech support. Taking responsibility in answering emails that come into multiple inboxes.
I have learnt new skills and developed on existing skills. My new skills include writing formal emails, organising meetings, writing minutes and creating agendas and action points. The existing skills I've developed further are meeting deadlines, effectively prioritising my workload, problem solving and meeting and communicating professionally with new people.
I love my job working with the NHS trusts and Health Education England colleagues. My team have been so friendly, kind and supportive since the day I started and I feel specially lucky for that. The company culture is very inclusive and I already feel welcomed and part of the team.
My programme is very organised. On my induction I met my tutor, was shown how to use the BUD assignment hub portal, estimated dates for my End Point Assessment and given information about how to collect my off the job hours. There is a bar on the BUD portal which shows what stage of study you are on and in line with that shows your progression from work submitted.
Health Education England have been extremely supportive whilst I have been completing my Level 3 apprenticeship. I have been given 1 day a week to complete my studying which helps me complete my assignments in time without taking up my free time outside of work. This has been very useful.
My training provider is Paragon Skills. My tutor has given me her contact details including email and phone number in case I need to get in touch with her. I have a meeting with her every month to discuss my assignments, if I have any questions and to check I am well.
I thing that my level 3 apprenticeship through my training provider has helped me perform better in my role by making me more aware of my companies vision, aims and values. I knew what they were before but my apprenticeship has made me think about it in more detail and reflect.
There are extra curricular activities available at Health Education England. Just recently for mental health week the organisation held a walking challenge to encourage staff to get walking, moving around to boost mood and getting active. Myself and my team got involved and were competing across other colleagues in the organisation which was fun.
Yes
I would recommend Health Education England to a friend because I have been part of the organisation for 10 months now and have enjoyed it. The people I have met have been friendly, supportive and welcoming. There are lots of communications regarding what is going on in the organisation and things to join and be a part of.
Tips and advice I would give to others applying to Health Education England would be to not be afraid to be yourself and express yourself as they are very inclusive, supportive and allow for diversity. Also, look into the Health Education England and NHS values before applying as they are interesting and will help you improve in your job.
