  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I prioritize my workload to ensure tasks are completed to designated deadlines. I complete tasks in date order unless anything is flagged up as urgent such as a consultant requesting to drop their theatre list or open an extra clinic. To do this, I strongly encourage staff to send all requests via email rather than verbal communication. This is because it helps me to keep log of work requests and track their progress. Once the task is completed, I always send emails back by means of confirmation. I categorise all tasks into four quadrants. 1) Urgent & Important tasks to be completed immediately. For example, a CNS Clinic needs cancelling for today or tomorrow due to sickness.2)Not Urgent & Important tasks/projects to be scheduled on your calendar. For example, filling Theatre Lists for two months down the line.3) Urgent & Unimportant tasks/projects to be delegated to someone else. For example, actioning a list of unoutcomed appointments.4) Not Urgent & Unimportant tasks/projects to be deleted. For example, a patient needing to be booked for another department. In which case, can be forwarded onto that team.
