  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Ad Sales department and I assist the TV ad operations team by doing tasks like importing programme/commercial files and scheduling commercials. I also help out on the digital side by setting up campaigns on Google Ad Manager for commercials to be shown on our YouTube channels such as Cartoon Network and DC Kids. I communicate with the kids programming, presentation and sales team on a daily basis.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt IT and technological skills as I have had to learn how to use different software and platforms like Landmark and Google Ad Manager which were very new to me but have had the best training from my colleagues. I've also been provided external training courses through my organisation which have built my knowledge in the field of media I work in and I have been able to network with externals.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The company culture is one of my favourite things about my apprenticeship because my organisation gives us the greatest benefits such as early film screenings, invitations to movie premieres and treats in the office! I also enjoy my programme because my team has always been there to support me and has provided efficient training for me to learn how to do my job.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well organised when it comes to things such as training, support and team hierarchy. The training I have received is adequate enough for me to do my job; i have been provided with some materials to refer back to if I get stuck on a task, but most importantly the communication is great. If i ever need to reach out my colleagues are more than happy to schedule a meeting with me.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive good support from my employer. The general attitude from my managers towards supporting me is great as they will make the time to meet with me if I need to discuss something. I have not contacted the HR Team much but when I have, the support has been good enough.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive good support from my training provider. With Multiverse we meet once a month with our coach and they help us improve on professionally and personal skills. When working towards qualifications, they could be a bit more clear on what exactly we have to do before our next deadline when it comes to assignments.

  • What I have learnt from my training provider has helped me perform better in my role as my coach has pushed me to work on professional and personal skills such as communication and time management which i have used in the workplace. In terms of the qualification i will receive (Level 3 Business Administration, it has a bit of relevancy for someone working in Ad Sales but not entirely.
