  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Depending upon what placement I am in, my day-to-day consist of maintaining/fixing machinery that has present faults or faults that could occur due to worn parts or the conditions of the machines. Also I carry out planned maintenance which means giving a general overlook of the machine and ensuring that it doesn't break or loose its parameters.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • So far through the program i am enjoying all of it. there is alot of responsibility at times but if you work to your best you can enjoy it. however there has been times where i believe things could have been done better especially on the college side of things.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall when working within the plant everything is generally organized well and there is a strong structure in place meaning that everyone knows what to do and where to be. However on the college side of things sometimes the organizational structure is poor as there has been times where we have been unsure what is needed from us etc.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Overall when at work there is more than enough support from everyone. for example if you are stuck with something within the business there are plenty of managers with wider knowledge of the company that are willing to help. in addition to this if you are on the shop floor pretty much all the technicians are willing to support and help as well.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • when working towards my qualifications the training provider offers various amounts of support like one on one's with tutors, team calls and also they sometimes set up after hour sessions. however due to the nature of the degree there is a grey area with how much they can help but overall if support is needed support is there.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • overall I believe that there is little relevance to what I am learning at college to what I actually do within the working area. there has been times where i have learnt something from the training provider and then i have used it within my work place. however on a whole most of the stuff learnt within the qualification doesnt get put to use.
