  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes a general support of IT hardware and software, it is my role to ensure that all user equipment is functioning as intended. We will ensure that new starters get their equipment on their start date with no issues. We have to manage user software as some software is license based.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a wide range of skills ranging from communication to specialist skills. Some of these include Cultural Awareness, Technical Speaking and more. In terms of specalist skills I have honed my knowledge with software such as active directory, intune, azure, general Microsoft Office queries, In house software such as PAC

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed my programme since I have a great team surrounding the work I do which makes working with the team enjoyable and easy to carry out sometimes difficult jobs as the colleagues make it easier. Overall the experience has been great and I'm happily carrying on

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel as if this programme is very well organised and structured as we were set a week by week plan of what we were supposed to learn each week and in those weeks we had training by members of the team which is good to get to know them as well as sharing their knowledge.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, they ensure that I am happy within my role and if I ever need any help I know where to go, there are many benefits to working which make the overall environment much better which makes supporting the team easier too

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a good amount of support when it comes to working towards qualifications as I can always contact my mentor when needed for pointers or rescheduling of work etc. We have regular reviews on my wellbeing and what I can be doing to achieve the higher grades which is helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification will allow me to be a whole lot more comfortable within my role as it will enhance my technical skills as well as my communication skills which can be reciprocated within the workplace. Overall I will benefit a lot from the qualification and become better in my own role

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are extra curricular activities to get involved in if you want to go that step further to find something to do, for example we have a company football event that happens in the summertime that will allow people from the company to have a good time which helps boost team building.

  • Yes

  • Barnett Waddingham is a great company that is full of great employees that push a motive to be friendly to others and actually caring towards your general wellbeing within the workplace, they will facilitate any personal needs you may have and can accomodate for any other needs you may want accommodated for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barnett Waddingham?
  • The advice I would give to others is that they should go in and give it their all, as it is returned in a great way which allows you to feel good about the work you do. Working as a team is incredibly important and will allow for a much better environment
