  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a kitchen manager it is my duty and responsibility to ensure that I have the correct team in place, ensure no equipment is broken, all stock is accounted for, ensuring I have a strong relationship with my managerial team and we communicate effectively to maintain and run the high standard business that we have.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt many new skills and talents I have became able to deal with multiple problems at any one time, I have developed not only my skills but the skills of others, I have currently taken on several other roles also within my pubs business area and helping to support my bdm with his jobs

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the content and the eye opening material that not only the trainers have had in this world but also the other members in the group it shows we are not alone and we are all more or less in the same boat its a very fun experience and one im enjoying being part off

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Yes i find that the course is very well structured and also very well delivered the trainers have a wide range of experience and knowledge thus helping us learners to develop and become better within ourselves. There is a wide range of material to use online also that helps with the coursework and self study

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I used to get a load of support from my employer but currently we have no management in charge so i'm left with little or no support at all from any one im reaching out the best i can and hopefully there will become some light at the end of tunnel

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received a lot of training from my tutor which i cannot thank enough for, he has helped me come through some stick situations where i thought i fell behind but he got me straight back on track, he is regular in his contacting which i cant thank great job [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has made me become a better manager and been able to perform to the best of my abilities, it has helped me build better relationships within my team and my peers. I have put theory in to place and i have seen so many results from my business thanks to this course

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes we tend to arrange nights out or social activities to help build bigger and better relationships. I have also managed to get a pool team within my business to help build a sales plan and move the pub forward. we also sponsor a young lads football team which helps bring some revenue and most importantly helps the team out

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I find greene king a great place to work and gives you many oppurtunites to devlop and become a better manager or even team member there is plenty of progression, plenty of time to yourself, and there are so many benefits and bonuses that are very intresting it is one of the best places i have worked


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • Give it your all become prepared. when first starting challenge the interview ask the questions you want to know but your full one hundred percent effort in. when in the job once again giving it your all as i say you put in the effort to get whats best for you
