  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the property management department as a client accountant. I get given tasks each day to look after the running and up keep costs of properties, my managers and team have helped me build a weekly time table to give a structured working week. I have one day a week dedicated to studying/attend lessons with my training provider.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely gained a lot of new skills, I am constantly learning things from my team and everyone is always willing to help. I've had some previous experience in accounts but never within property so I have developed my pervious skills by applying them in new ways and learning the systems Savills work with.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have been really enjoying each day as I am constantly learning and I can see the progression I am making. I also think it has helped with self confidence as I've had to talk/meet lots of new people, I attended an introduction day at head office and got to meet others in my position which I found very fun and helpful.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I am still relatively new to my program although for the time I have been here the work place seems very accommodating, I am able to look at my diary each day and know what I will be doing and if I am ever short of work, everyone is willing to explain a new process to me and provide me with work. The training provider is always keeping me up to date and are very friendly.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My team are very supportive, 9/10 there are people in the office if I need support and if they are not I can call them on teams to discuss my queries. My manager is always introducing me to new people and arranging for me to meet others from different sites. I am allowed time to study and have been advised leading up to exams they will be as accommodating as I need.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As I have not been on the course for long I haven't had much experience with lessons/training. As for communication Training together are excellent! They respond to emails very fast and are always happy to help. Jo from training together also helped prep me for my interview and was so helpful/friendly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have previously trained myself for level 2 AAT while working as a dental nurse. I think that this job role will help me so much to understand the topics more, I also know I will have full support from colleges/training provider to help me perform well within my exams, lessons and each working day.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, I have been here less than two months and have already been invited to conferences, days out, yoga trips, lunches and for drinks. I also get lots of updates through emails of all the extra activities available to me and I know of sports teams within the company and who to contact to get involved,

  • 9a. Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Everyone within Savils that I have met so far have been friendly and helpful! I think that they treat the apprentices well and pay extremely well for an apprentice level position. There are always things to get involved in and I already feel like I have fit well within my team.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
  • Just to be yourself in your interview as everyone here is different and I think that's what makes a work place so interesting. I would also say to always say to contact anyone who is able to help you prep for the interview, do lots of research on the website/social media as Savills has lots of information on these resources and ask lots of questions to make sure Savills is a good fit for yourself.
