  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am in national markets audit so on day to day basis I speak to clients, request information, work through the information that they have provided, a lot of excel use, speak to the team, etc.

    8/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My confidence and communication skills have defiantly improved as well as accounting knowledge

    8/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the responsibilities given at work but also the social side of the accounting

    8/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has been very clear from the start, whilst the layout of exams is lightly odd (e.g. 3 exams in one year and 6 exams in another) plenty of help is received which makes it work

    8/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive 1-3 study leave days per exam which is nice but could provide more, unpaid leave is available to take if struggling with the exams and the timescales

    6/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has not been the best so far, it took forever and lots of chasing for them to mark the reflective statements, they forgot to inform the company of my exam passing, but the tutors are good

    5/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although taking the exams plays a part in learning the accounting rules and the 'how to' s, I think I have learnt the most from actually working

    7/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a netball and football teams as well as CSR which plan the events for charities

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a good company with some benefits (not many as an apprentice but more benefits once qualified), it's good pay and clear progression

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Research other companies too and compare the benefits so that you're not shocked when joining, ask lots of questions
