  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i go to work and have a morning meeting once the morning meeting i finished i will go along with one of the other lads and begin my days work with whatever they are doing, i usually am the second man on the job and help with most of the things we do

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, i have learnt loads of new thing, i have learnt how to test panels and how to take valves etc off of machines, i have learnt how to isolate plant and the difference between materials and there uses i have also learnt how to solve prolems in abstract ways

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i really enjoy my apprenticeship and every day when coming into work i am faced by new and interesting challenges that i need to overcome. the people i work with and my line manager are spoton and make work even more enjoyable as they support me and make my days better

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • i think the programme is pretty well organised on the company side of things and is all usually plain sailing. sometimes college are a bit disorganised and things need chasing up but it isnt that difficult and doesnt cause me many problems really, i think sometimes they could just do with being a bit more organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i receive loads of support from work my boss always gives me any time that i need for college work or assignments. also whne i go out on jobs with the lads they all help me and describe what i am doing and why to make sure i have a good understanding

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • as mentioned before they give us all the support they are required to give but it doesnt go much further than that, sometimes important assignments and pieces of work are given little attention whereas smaller lesss important things are mulled over multiple times, for example i have an assignment to do at the minute and it was left till the last minute to be explained to us

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • so far everything i have learnt has given me a better base of understanding of everything that goes on at work, i would say that the qualifciation is pretty relevant however a lot of my understanding of the factory comes from my time with the other fitters and working on plant

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • i think a few of the lads play footy etc but i am not great at football and usually have a routine through the week that i follow, things like nights out and days out have been mentioned and are in the process of being planned and organised that everyone is invited to

  • 9a. Would you recommend Nestle to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • it is a well organised and safe working environment with a lot of good people working here, the work is good and challenging at times which encourages you to do better and improve as an employee, i enjoy coming into work and there seems to not e enough hours in the day which is a good thing


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestle?
  • to try their hardest and be yourself because once you get on site thats how you will have to act, i thik that they would have to do a lot of research and make sure that they sell themselves well by putting questions and good ideas forward in their interviews
