  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my apprenteship I move around 4 different rotations across the business every 9 months. In my current role in eCommerce as a part of sales, I manage the online Sainsbury's and Co-op account, ensuring i handle the budget fairly, assigning it to suited media bookings. I create regular strategic plans in order to overcome any challenges we may be facing and present these to internal as well as external stakeholders. I also support the team with various other projects, one major one at the moment is looking into our new online KPI dashboard we have introduced, educating the team on how to use it, as well as looking into solutions on those areas that aren't performing well.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! There isn't a single day that's gone past and I haven't learnt something new. And my line manager is always encouraging me to develop my skills and giving me guidance on how to do so.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Loads. They always encourage you to learn and take opportunities. My line manager puts aside extra time to find out what I want skills I want to develop and helps me with that. Trained "champions" sit within each of our rotations who are always on hand to support. We also have an amazing academy team who are always checking in with our well-being and giving us all the support we may need.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • They're just an email away at all times and are so quick at responding. They always make sure to let us know who will be available at any given time so we know who will be able to respond if we have any questions. They give us regular support and feedback and are great at checking in. They also offer us an immense amount of educational support such as reading and writing services as well as various other useful resources.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It's teaching me about the environment I'm working in as well as how to identify and overcome challenges while actually working. It's a great way to learn about some theory and then apply it in the workplace and expand my knowledge even more from putting it into practice.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we often go meet as a wider team in York or London and do team activities such as escape rooms which are a great way to grow as a team, we also go out for meals and make sure we have that social time together. As well as this, the apprentices as a group also have a group chat where we organise activities for those who want to get involved almost every day after work. Activities such as quizzes, sports & more.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Nestle to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's an opportunity anyone would be silly to pass down. With the amount of stuff you can get involved with(which is endless), and the people you can meet. You also genuinely feel like you're making a difference and you can see the difference your work is making which is very rewarding.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestle?
  • Be your complete self and you'll fit in, Nestlé doesn't just want one personality type, they want you for you because that's the best way to collaboratively bring your best and unique ideas to the table.
