Throughout the apprenticeship we get moved through each department whether that be manufacturing, engineering, quality, assembly etc. Day to day tasks include maintaining, overhauling train parts, communicating well with the team and team leaders.
Yes at MakeUK i learned several skills which has benefitted me massively as i learnt crucial engineering skills which will benefit me in the future.
I enjoy work, some parts of the job more than others although i think that is common in most jobs. Everyone at KB are friendly and there are plenty of people with top tier knowledge who are always happy to help.
In terms of everything at Knorr-Bremse it is extremely organized and structured. Support is offered if asked and if it seems viable. At KB we have regular reviews so that we can express opinions. Although, MakeUK could improve on organization however it is still suitable and to a great standard.
Support from the employer is generally always offered if and when it is needed. If there is a problem with college (MakeUK) then our employers do not hesitate to email them to get things sorted which is really helpful.
We have had a fair few different Assessors from MakeUK and some have been better than others. Although in current times our Assessor is always on hand to offer advice and responds to emails/calls promptly, happy to help us.
Massively! Without carrying out the qualification I would not have much clue where to start within the engineering sector. I have been able to put things I've learnt into practice in some instance within the workplace.
We have a Knorr-Bremse day every year where different activities are set up, like a sports day really!
Yes
KB is a good place to work with friendly employee's who are always happy to offer a hand and throughout the business there are plenty of benefits.
Research about Knorr-Bremse as it always looks good when you can tell the employer about the business. Be yourself, stay calm and enjoy the experience.
