Managing kitchen team, producing rotas, food orders par levels for ordering, defrost and prep. Praising and disciplining team. Teaching new dishes to team in cook off as well as ensuring the team are upholding company standards to spec. Analysing how the kitchen can improve and then puttting those actions into place
Yes I now understand more about different methods of communicating and working with team to manage them as well as understanding more about nutrients and what affect they have on your body. I also know how to alter dishes to be fit someone who might have a deficiency or illness
It was informative and I feel like there was a reasonable amount of work load for the time that was given to complete, only complaints were that at times it felt like not enough resources to learn were provided by the course. Other than that it was a good experience
Very well, my trainer kept me informed and up to date on the plan and how we were going to do things, as well as what the end tests were going to be like and what they were. The schedule for meeting was okay but would’ve been better if the time between was shorter
My employer provided good support, when I needed documents signing or filling out they did so quickly and easily. As well as being understanding when I needed the time to finish work for the course or have my meeting with my course guide. They also helped if I needed any information
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] gave plenty of support when I needed help in between sessions as well as being understanding when I had to cancel a session. He made sure we had our meetings regularly and corrected me where appropriate with the work booklets to ensure that I knew what I needed to
I feel like not all the information is useful in my current role but in the future it might be if I were to go to a fresh kitchen or start up my own business. That being said a lot of it was useful in helping wi to my day to day work
No there isn’t though I don’t think these would benefit the workplace all that much. I know they could help build bonds between employees but I think we all work well and have strong enough bonds as it is already. So not really of much use for our team
Yes
They are a reliable employer with benefits like team feeding and staff discounts. They have a large network of pubs that you can transfer to if that’s what you need and plenty of progression if that’s something you want. The hours aren’t always the best but thats hospitality
Show that you’re a hard worker and learn things quickly. Always find something to do, don’t cause any drama and just get on with your job. Try to be available for any hours including working weekends or holidays and be open to trying new tasks or sections of the job
