  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I help to train and develop people in my client group. This can be having career conversations with people, working out a development plan to help them progress and to also train them in certain areas where they need help. I create content for our digital platform by creating e-learning, videos and document to help get the messages across for the task people need help with. I also write the apprenticeship magazine for the company, get involved with company projects and take part in meeting to help organise events or learning days. Im a insight discovery practitioner so run days to help people be more self aware and soon i shall be using my coaching skills to coach people within the business.

  • Its been really well organised, i had the map of what the next year would look like at the start of the course and in month 1 we got all dates for the entire year for the teahing days, this way its easy to plan around them and understand whats needed of me and by when. I have also enjoyed using the onefile portal which is easy to use and clear for what assignement is have and when they are due, its also really great to see how far ive come on the progress dial. We are encouraged to contact our tutor when we need and its very open and helpful to speak with them.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have been really fortunate to be able to plan my days and weeks so that i can study at work and am encouraged to use work time to complete essays and learning. The company is also championing a coaching culture so are excited for when i can start coaching people in the business already identifying potential coachees. The business is very supportive and encouraging by shouting about the courses and celebrating apprenticship success with categories in our awards days dedicated to them and a magazine dedicated to them letting others know the opprotunities. We also have whole training programmes that work alongside apprenticeships to encourage learners to get the most out of them and learn even more from the L&D team along the way.

  • This course is very much made for my role right now as e have changed how we do things in the L&D department and we are trying to take a more coaching approach as opposed to previous times. the course is helping me to understand more about what a team needs and getting deeper to what the root of the situation in for the teams to be able to offer them the most we can at the right time in the comapany. its helping me slow down and be less reative but more proactive.
