  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day we are given work papers to complete. We have calls with our in charge (who will change depending on which job we are working on) and the in charge will teach us what we need to do with that specific workpaper. We are constantly learning as we go along. Around 4-5 times a year we will spend a week in college studying for our exams, we will then have two weeks or so to revise and prepare before sitting the exam.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am becoming much more confident while communicating with people. I have had to speak to clients alone, sometimes about topics I'm not very educated on but I am learning to try my best with what I already know. I am learning to balance my work with my studies so that i am successful in my exams as well as in my everyday job.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as I like to learn new things and working on this programme I am meeting lots of new people who I wouldn't have ever met if not. I feel like I am developing my skills, especially my confidence and communication skills, and the hard work of studying for exams while also working all day is paying off.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The exams are all planned out years in advance so we know exactly when we will be in college (staying away from home) which is very useful. The content we are studying in college ties back with the work we are doing daily which is very good. I think the client site and office days need to be much more structured so we know where we will be working in advance rather than just the weekend before as this makes it extremely hard to plan our own personal lives for example we will have no idea what time we will be home from work so cant make plans to meet with family or friends.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • there are always so many people we can contact if we ever need any extra support or help. Before we started we were given a smart contact and once we joined we were given a performance manager, a performance leader and a buddy, all of which we can go to when we need any help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training providers hold regular catch up reviews so we always have somewhere to voice any concerns if we need to. we are able to email someone from our training provider if we ever need to so i think this is very useful. we always hear from our training providers with regular emails and opportunities.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Everything we are learning in college ties nicely back in with what we are doing in our jobs everyday. The exam content helps us understand the work we are doing more although a lot of the things we are doing daily is brand new and sometimes this can be a bit scary. Sometimes the content can be easily forgotten and we don't revisit it enough.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes there are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in. There are often gym and yoga sessions held over lunch and also sports teams to get involved in if we would like to. There are lots of group chats where you can message and meet new people with similar interests to you. There are also lots of volunteering opportunities.
