  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Only just started my course but have already applied some theories of Mcgrath and Bates on Hersey and Blanchard's Situational Leadership around coaching, directing, supporting and delegating. This theory can be used when giving your team member a new task to perform. Giving my team the opportunity to communicate.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I miss the physical connection but think the virtual teaching has been well thought out. The QA Team have been trying hard to include and encourage collaboration. Break out sessions have been great, I'm starting to debate supporting my arguments with theory which is exciting for someone who has been out of education for so long.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The guidance is great, we have a wealth of resources online and we are also given a week by week reading requirement and additional reading that can be carried out. We have bi-weekly workshops as well as training provided on back-to-learning. We are also assigned a Skills Coach who stays with us throughout the course which is great.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My Manager is 100% supportive with my apprenticeship and has been making sure I have the time within working hours to concentrate on my studies. She has also been making sure my team have the support if needed while I'm 'out of office'. My leader has also attended my skills sessions with QA.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As I have only just started I can only base my answer on the application of course content so far. Already this course is making me apply theories of Management I would have never read about or even knew existed until I started this course. I believe this will make me a better and more capable leader for the future.
