  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently I am on placements in different departments meaning that I'm seeing other sides of the plant. Currently, my daily tasks involve lots of different projects where I have to communicate with other associates from different departments.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have had lots of opportunities to develop all sorts of skills, both in the workplace and at college. Lots of the college course material has benefited me when moving into different departments at work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it a lot, the other associates at work are always helpful and are friendly. The work is enjoyable the majority of the time as it is usually something new and interesting.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The first two years of the apprenticeship could have gone smoother but COVID didn't help it. However, since starting my third year it has been well organised with both college and work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • If there are any problems there are plenty of different people to go to and any issue I have had, it has been sorted efficiently and quickly. There is plenty of support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support from the college when it comes to working towards the qualifications. Recently our workload has risen a lot, and our teacher has given up his saturday mornings to put on an extra optional lecture which helps a lot!

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like the qualifications I have gained and am working to benefit me a lot when I am at work. Different tasks pop up and I feel like the things I learnt at college have assisted me massively to be able to confidently complete these tasks.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Before COVID, I participated in multiple Go Karting races with others from work as a social event which was organised by other associates. Usually, once a year in the summer, Rolls-Royce hosts a family day where everybody is able to get together.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BMW Group to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • There are so many opportunities to take and lots of different job roles out there to suit anyone. The apprenticeship scheme is also very good as it allows you to choose your path to hopefully start a successful career.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • The interview process was quite full on as it involved exams, a practical test and an interview where you had to present a project. But confidence and proving you can work well in a team will definitely benefit you.
