    • Inspect and maintain the plant as well as fabricating new parts in the workshop and fitting them

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

    • I have learn to weld as well as using gas. I have also been trained on a tele handler so I can drive one on site.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

    • When I first started it took a while for them to figure out what they wanted me to do so it was a lot of sitting around finding things to do but now it is a lot better

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

    • Organisation is good depending on who your manager is. When I started there was little structure but now I have a new manager and it feels like I’m actually getting somewhere

    • Day to day I get support whenever I need it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

    • The support from the training provider varies but this is mostly due to limitations from covid 19

    • The qualification covers a wider range than what I do at work do it gives me more options in the future.

    • Yes

  • 9b. Why?

    • The company is good to work for and the people are helpful too. Each day is different to the last.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tarmac?

    • Make sure it is definitely what you want to do because otherwise you won’t enjoy it
