  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working in a tax department, my job involves doing admin tasks such as setting up client engagements and completing tax returns. This includes collaborating with colleagues as well as clients to complete tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've have greatly developed my time management skills as my job involves working on multiple projects concurrently, therefore i've learned to prioritise my work. I've also learned technical knowledge through sitting AAT exams.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I very much enjoy the programme i am on since i've been able to rotate through multiple departments to gain experience on what the company does, and work with a broad range of people.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very clearly structured, as we followed a set timetable made in the beginning of the apprenticeship when i first joined. We also have set time for study leave and exam leave in between working.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received report from multiple facets in the company, both from a work and study point of view. For example, i have monthly calls with exam support officers to guide me through my exams, as well as meetings with my work managers to help set goals at work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received study leave days, access to teachers for any questions i had, as well as support for any issues which would impact my learning. overall i did also enjoy the process of studying while working.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • THere is alot of overlap between the work i do and the content i am studying. This is good as it helps me progress in my work. I know my about the industry i am in due to the studies i have done.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are several activites to get involved in, as well as social events which regularly take place, for example sports events and leisure activities to get to know my colleagues better and relax.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It has provided me with a solid foundation to begin my career, as i have earned qualifications and valuable working experience which i can use in the future. I have also gained many benefits with the company e.g. birthdays off.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Make sure you use all the support that is available to you e.g. tutors and performance managers whenever you have any questions as they will always try and find solutions for you. Say yes to every opportunity that comes your way as it will be valuable for learing.
