  • I work closely with other members of my team across capabilities to maintain and develop software products for clients within the financial services industry

  • Through provided training and on the job experience, I have developed my problem solving and programming skills. I have also had many opportunities to display and work on my presentation skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program (and all apprenticeships at KPMG in general) offers opportunities to develop yourself personally as well as professionally. I enjoy the variety of activities available and look forward to becoming a better, more rounded young professional.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured appropriately with a useful induction process. As a degree apprentice, our team leads are aware of our university responsibilities and distribute our KPMG work load accordingly. There is always support available from individuals whether academically or professionally.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is always easily accessible and there is a keen focus on keeping apprentices grounded with frequently meetings with individuals such as your performance manager and/or team/project lead.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Degree apprentices are treated like standard undergraduate students and have access to all the support readily available such as an academic advisor, student support etc. which makes the degree process run more smoothly and more enjoyable for us a students.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Through my degree, I am able to develop a greater understanding of the work which I contribute to which is then developed and put into context through on the job experience.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Each employee has a volunteering allowance which can be used throughout the year to give back to the community, an act which is encouraged by KPMG. Within the department, there have been a range of virtual social events put in place to maintain the feeling of togetherness.

  • Yes

  • It's a people-oriented company that looks after its people. I'm also excited by the range of both professional and personal development opportunities available.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Be confident in yourself and what you can offer. Being able to demonstrate individually and passion is important throughout the entire application process. Also, take advantage of all the (verified) help that is available e.g. psychometric test practice.
