  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As an Audit apprentice I work with my team on a daily basis, working on a client engagement. The engagement in-charge delegates tasks to the team which includes a range of work relating to different stages of the audit. I participate in weekly team catch ups and occasional client calls.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Through my work I have been able to develop my technological skills, such as Microsoft Excel, eAudit and KCW. I have begun to develop the behaviors required for the program. In addition, I have started to gain my Level 3 AAT qualifications and hope to progress to Level 7 by the end of the program.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Since I have joined the programme, the teams I have worked with have been very supportive and welcoming. Those in charge of the apprenticehip programme have organised many events and oppurtunities for us to all get involved and meet with new people. However, I do believe that remote working has had an affect on my expectations.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has been well organised from the start. Each apprentice has been given a buddy, manager and PL to support us, as well as the option to request extra help. TWe were all provided with an induction and an outline of how the programme will run over its course.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received lots of support from my employer and have been provided with many resources. I have recently been allocated a mentor to help guide me through my time at KPMG. Further help and support is also offered frequently and we have a firm wide weekly check in.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My learning provider is BPP and they have been very helpful from the start. We are offered a support team and access to our tutor anytime during the programme. The tutors are very helpful and supportive and always have a positive attitude towards supporting us.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualifications have helped me learn more about my industry and has helped me understand why I complete the work I do. I hope to further my knowledge over the course of my programme to further improve which will help put the theory into practise.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • KPMG has many extra-curricular activities such as: Mentoring, volunteering opportunities, networks/societies, firm wide events and much more.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • KPMG are a people-oriented firm who go the extra mile to ensure that everyone is included. Since I have joined the firm I have always felt welcome and supported with my work, qualifications and personal life.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Be open and confident in yourself when going through the application process whether it is the online exams or the assessment centre. The application process can be intimidating as there is a lot of competition but believe in yourself and have fun and you will be fine.
