We are involved in the audit if the company we are assigned to. We may have minor tasks to begin with and then may progress on more challenging and technical areas
I have developed existing skills and behaviours such as communication as well as developing the acoounting knowledge I had from school days. I have also begun to learn new skills now such as indirect tax skills as well
I have always wanted to do something in finance since i left school so when i landed this apprenticeship, it seemed like the obvious and perfect choice. I am loving my time at KPMG and they have been am absolute pleasure to work for.
I think it is very well structured and organised, however i do think the timelines and exxpectations of out courses could sometimes be communicated to us a bit better
we receive as much support as we need. If we choose to ask for extra support then we get it. They also make a concious effort to support our well being and general day-to-day life as well as our work life
We receive some support however there have been issues with receiving materials late. i think they support us to a point, however for certain tasks we could use a bit more support and explanation
I feel it is a vital part of performing our role. It provides the basis and understanding of accounting so that when we are required to perform a task on an audit, we have the basic/underlying knowledge in order to complete it
There are department socials, all colleague events and volunteering oppurtunities. there are also different networks which are groups with common interests etc and they have seminars and gatherings etc as well. So there are plenty of extra curricular activities to join and get involved in.
Yes
They are lovely to work for. The people you are working with are really nice and you can see that they are always ready, willing and able to help
My biggest tip would be to be yourself. I think its extremely important to show people who you are and that you are willing and ready to learn.
