  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as an audit assistant wihin the audit department. I work in CLR, corporates listed and regulated and this means we do several tests per client to ensure no fraud is taken place and test against the accounting standards and make sure the business is working ethically and not fraudulently.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of new skills such as how to communicate in a professional setting, this can vary between clients so you need to learn which tone and type of communication is best suited for the curent situation. I have also learnt alot about time management whilst juggling workbalance as well as exams.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as I learn lots of new skills on a daily basis which I can utilise in both work life and every day life too. I like my programme as we are given study days to reise for our exams which really help and give me time to manage my workload too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured well as we have a time table listed for our upcoming level 3 and 4 exams so that we can se when we will have college and when we will have exams which helps us to plan our time around this effectively and allows us to prepare.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We recieve general suport from our employer. They are very understanding around times of our exam and never put too much pressure or workload on us at these times as they understand it can be very stressful for us to juggle. I always feel as though I have someone within workwho I can talk to and communicate with.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We recieve lots of support from our training provider after the designated college days the tutor will hand out heir email so that we can contac them at any time. There is also a forum where anyone on the course can ask questions and the tutors will reply. They also give us stud materials with question banks to help us practice.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe my qualification gives me a higher understanding of phrases and termonology used in my day to day work. This then results in be being able to get involved in more team conversations and offer my opinion on the matter as i have a slight understanding of the topic.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As of now in the current situation of covid all social activities are limited and as I only started the company in October 2020 I have not yet being able to experience any of the social activities that the business offers. However we have had several virtual social events such as christmas parties.

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a reputable company with lots of different department and career choices. The apprenticeship schee is a really good opportunity to kick start your career from an early age and get get you in good sted for promotions later down in the line as you have learnt all your skills from KPMG and know their ways of working.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • I would 100% apply as it is such a good company to work for, however to do well and suceed the effort has to be put in too as there is lots of good talent wihin the company. There is lots of scope for promotions and moving up the ladder within the company.
