  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a quality assurer who supports a team of Training development officers to allow them to deliver out apprenticeships timely and to a good quality allowing our learners to engage and enjoy their apprenticeship whilst developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours . I monitor the progression of the apprenticeships through our e-portfolio along with how our TDO provide feedback and identify individual training needs of our apprenticeships

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • New skills learnt within project management and the tools used, the importance of a business strategy and how everyone's role works towards achieving this. The art of communication is important regardless of what platform is being used. I understand the requirements of the EPA and being supported towards achieving this

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I look forward to the classroom sessions which are all delivered remotely, this means no travel involved but you do have to have a reliable internet connection. The tutors are knowledgeable and always available to help if and when needed. Working with colleagues who are also on the apprenticeship as sometimes we don't always work with and know are colleagues due to the geographical spread of the business

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Well organised as we were given the time table right at the beginning of the apprenticeship and these were all diarized allowing us to plan around this. All teaching resources are made available before or during each classroom session . Access to CIPD have also been arranged as this is a requirement of the apprenticeship

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Initially my line manager was involved in my reviews within the apprenticeship providing feedback and also setting targets and objectives within the review. I have also been supported additionally when further information was required and my own access to this information was limited . This allowed me to complete my assignments timely

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Regular classroom sessions and always available for additional help as and when required . Feedback given is always developmental as I have been made aware of the EPA requirements on going as the activities/tasks that I have completed to date is working towards this . All information required to complete assignments are made available timely

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Teaching and learning provided has help me develop my skills when providing feedback to ensure this is always developmental. Using the different approaches to time management has been useful has this has allowed me to manage my time effectively and I am also developing my awareness of the HR role within the business

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • the business are always looking at supporting well being for the staff and create different activities everyone can become involved in if they wish to this isn't mandatory , during lockdown virtual yoga classes were offered as well as tutorial videos about trimming own hair and more recently are supporting are chosen charity with virtually running/walking around the world

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Very approachable and knowledgeable staff , all resources are of good quality . Staff are very supportive and realise are quick to react when trainers are unavailable for the planned classroom sessions . I have only experienced virtual training due to starting my Apprenticeship during lockdown this has worked well for myself and being provided with all dates have allowed my to plan my workload around the apprenticeship


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
  • Have all information to hand that is required as requested . Attend all meetings with trainer classroom or 121 and make time to complete work , talk to your trainer if you have any worries and or concerns about the work required or apprenticeship and most of all enjoy the experience and gain new knowledge skills and behaviours
