  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Providing support to employees through a range of development programmes. There is loads of variety within my role and no two days are the same. I get involved with designing workshops, meeting with key stakeholders and facilitation.

  • I'm always learning and have the time to reflect and improve my skills through personal development conversations with my Line Manager

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Love the programme - it feels so real and relevant to my role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is really well structured, I had a great induction with the provider and got to meet my cohort face-to-face and we've kept in contact via WhatsApp since. My tutor, manager and peers have all been super supportive with my studies.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager has been a great support since starting the programme. She's completed both the Level 3 and 5 qualification so is able to really guide me through the programme. My Manager, Head of Department and HR manager have given me full flexibility to complete the programme.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My Training provider is fab - I am able to contact them via email or phone. They are always available or find time to support me. I have had face-to-face meetings which allows me to go through my progress in more detail.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This programme is perfect for my role, putting the theory straight into action! I feel the programme content has allowed me to be more competent and confident in my role. The qualification has also allowed me to learn more about the industry I work as well as support my future career.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes! We have team socials, a range of communities we can join (I'm a member of the parents community) and also host seasonal sporting events for all employees to get involved in.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I've learnt so much since joining and I'm really fascinated by all the different aspects our business has to offer. We are a national business reporting into a global business (CRH) so the opportunities here are so exciting! The culture and team spirit is amazing at Tarmac.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tarmac?
  • Be yourself! Share what makes you, you! Tarmac really embraces who you are as a person and personally has pushed me to really push myself out of my comfort zone and aim high in regards to my career aspirations all along the way being guided by some amazing, really supportive people (e.g. my manager, team and mentor)
