  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As an ISE our day-to-day was calling out to accounts and being goal orientated in order to smash our sales targets, this is heightened by the Vendor focus call out days. However I have recently moved into a progression role as Business Development Executive where I now specialize in a specific vendor as a funded head.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I feel I have really grown in confidence and developed my skills over the course of this programme. This is shown by my new approach to being on the phones, improved time management skills and newly found knowledge on the sales process to really excel as a salesperson.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is one I would heavily endorse as the growth I gained as a person as well as the new opportunities I have gained from this apprenticeship have been a great bonus with this being my very first job. There was also the Outward Bound trip in the lake district which really helped us grow as a team.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • With only being the second cohort for Tech Data, the programme was well structured while still being new to the apprenticeship. we started with classroom training before being eased into the phones and sales teams, while also gaining valuable business unit experience.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From day one the support we received from our managers and peers around the company was great as everyone was so friendly and willing to help and advise using their experience.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We had regular online calls (due to covid) as well as in office meetings where we discussed the apprenticeship, ourselves and world affairs. This helped keep us on track throughout the programme.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the qualification greatly helped with my performance in my role as I learnt new skills over the course of the programme.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are several extra-curricular activities such as the social club for out of office activities and in office activities to keep morale high and bring a great team environment to the offices

  • Yes

  • After my experience with the programme its one I would always recommend to anyone

  • Come goal focused and always show up willing to learn and you will succeed at tech data.
