  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • While I work as an Assistant Project Manager and already have some knowledge and skills in this area, I have developed new skills that I can use in my work place. Particularly around project plans, earned value and critical paths. There are some tools I already used but some I have not used before which I will now likely put into practice.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying the Project Management Apprenticeships. I feel that the classroom sessions face to face were more beneficial however due to covid my training provider had to change to online delivery. I have found this to be more challenging however this cannot be helped due to the current situation. Overall the support has been good

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well. It has been different to the information I was given when I started due to the pandemic but I have been able to follow it well. I am learning a lot from my apprenticeship and I am happy with my training and development officer and the support they provide

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer hasn't been heavily involved in my apprenticeship however as a standalone manager I haven't really needed the support from them. If I need to take time to complete my 20% off the job am I am able to manage my own time and take this when needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received a lot off support from my training provider. Whenever I need to contact my training and development officer they have always put time in with me to go through any areas I have been struggling with. I have regular reviews with them and always know what work I need to do and what tasks I have outstanding.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that the qualification has helped me to perform much better in my role. It has taught me lots of techniques I didn't have before and provided me access to resources I also didn't know existed. These resources have helped me at work and I now feel more confident.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I don't really get involved in any extra curricular activities at work. If we have charity events then I get involved in those but taking part or donating. I used to attend professional networking events however due to covid 19 none of these have taken place while I have been on my apprenticeship. I would like to attend these again in the future when we are able.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Realise to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have found Interserve a great company to work for. Despite the rocky path the company has been on recently I have always felt valued and think that he communication has been good. We get some good employee benefits and a decent holiday allowance. All in all I am happy working here

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
  • For anyone applying to Interserve I would advise that they research the company and the changes it has been through so they understand the structure. I would also say that Interserve place health and safety as one one the most important aspects at work as well as mental health and wellbeing so you will be taken care of at work.
