  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am the TA for Year 5 and my role involves supporting pupils ( inc. SEN )on a 1:1 basis or in groups with their learning / intervention in any subject area as per the teachers planning and also getting resources ready for lessons / interventions , display boards and supervision during playtimes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I will soon be Qualified as a Level 3 TA , course is currently ongoing ,have done lots of online courses through Educare and have successfully completed my 2 day Paediatric First Aid course . I have also become confident in using ICT , through self learning and support from colleagues .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am very confident in working as a team , know my responsibilities and never hesitant to ask for help or in doubt , making sure I follow and reinforce to pupils the Ethos and Aims of our School . I thoroughly enjoy working ,while acquiring new skills and putting them into practice .

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised , have a Fantastic tutor for support who takes time to explain tasks ,always gets back with the answers for queries that I might have and guides me well in the direction of gaining the Qualification very soon.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received good support form my employer , allocating me time for webinars , face to face conversations with tutors and assignment writing. I have been observed by several members of staff with different Job Titles and have received positive feedback about my job and any improvements if needed .

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a Very good Tutor who is always available to contact with any queries that I might have asked and has given clear explanations and the expectations of the course to complete it successfully . She is very encouraging and takes time to explain tasks/ assignment and evidence needed for completion.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The course has given me a very good insight of what more is expected of my role than just supporting pupils with their learning . I have been putting into practice the theories that I have learnt about and clearly know what is expected of me and performing my job professionally and confidently when facing challenges.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been supporting pupils with the Football club and sewing club ( After school clubs ). I also work along with another staff with Aftercare facility once every week . I also actively participate in the Wellbeing Wednesday activities by proving valuable ideas and getting resources readily available to make the most out of the sessions .

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A Teaching Assistant role is a demanding one , gaining a professional qualification would help perform the job even better as it covers a wide range of subject knowledge along with the daily experience at work . The tutors also provide guidance , links to websites to help us achieve the 20% of our off the job which is really helpful.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to St.Georges school?
  • I would suggest them to confidently apply to this company as the Tutors are very professional in the way they are guiding us for successful completion of the course . They are also very informative and get back to us with the right answers/ information needed and provide valuable feedback for improvement.
