I have to look after the children in the setting, prepare snack and get ready for lunch time, take the children to the toilet, do small group activities, support the children and encourage them to join in with activities and I also have to make sure the needs of every child is met.
I have learnt new skills such as how to make activities for the children and write it on the planning sheet, I have learnt how to deal with a child’s behaviour and how to put them on a sand timer. I have developed on group activities. For example, doing ring games with a small amount of children.
I really enjoy my programme, my tutor is very helpful and replies very quickly when I need help to do my course work. I am very excited to carry on what I am doing and I can’t wait to complete my course. I really enjoy learning new things on a day to day basis.
My tutor sets me work every month, if I finish my work I will ask for more and she will always send me some extra work to complete. My course is very well structured, I have a call with my tutor once a month and it is very helpful as I know what I need to do for my coursework.
My employer helps me loads, she always encourages me to keep doing my activities and she gives me lots of praise. If I need any help with anything, she will always help me, she is very helpful. My employer also sets me things I can improve on, for example my confidence.
I get lots of support from my tutor, she is very easy to get hold off of I need any help with my work, she always sets a few tasks a month and explains what I have to do before she sets it. My tutor is very supportive and helps in the best way she can.
I know how I can improve, and I put that into my practice. I find the work shadows really useful because I know everything I have done in that month. The calls are very useful because I can have a discussion about what I done in the month and what I can improve on.
One member of staff done a football course and does simple football training with the children. At Christmas and Easter we do parties for the children, and parents can watch them do a show on stage. This really helps the children boost there confidence and get them settled in the setting.
Yes
I think paragon skills have been very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone I know, they have always helped me from when I started my level 2 and I believe they will support me until I finish my level 3. My tutor is very easy to get hold off of I need her.
I would tell people to go with paragon skills because they have helped me. I would tell people to be polite to the members of paragon skills because they are always polite to you. I would also tell other people the good things. For example, your tutor will always help you if you get stuck when completing your course.
