I am a community care worker that is involved in day to day support of people that are mainly elderly and live alone. These tasks include personal care, medication, meal prep, household tasks such as cleaning and shopping and general support and providing companionship for individuals that may live alone
I have learnt more in depth about what being a care worker involves, especially when it comes to supporting and mentoring new members of staff and new service users that join the service we provide. More in depth about how to complete risk assessments and what is expected
I enjoyed the programme and being able to ask for help from a personal tutor whenever it was necessary. I found some parts difficult to understand with the wording but always had the help from tutor who explained everything easily so I could carry on the work expected of me

Great opportunity to gain extra skills and qualifications and the trainers provide a lot of help when needed
