The role at Tata steel is a shift electrician, we are responsible for electrical maintenance and responding to plant break down, we also can do installation work.
Yes aswell as the electrical apprenticeship I have gone on to courses in Health and Safety, and a multitude of other courses
The training programme is very diversified, so you complete college work, also Tata's own in-house courses. Very intensive course but also very enjoyable as you get to put in to practice what you learn
I always knew what I would be doing and where I needed to be due to monthly timetable, apprenticeship is very well structured so that learning is made more easier
You will receive a monumental amount of support on the course if it's needed, and one to one training was not uncommon for me during the apprenticeship
Support is always available if needed.
The qualifications completed during the apprenticeship mirror image what you will do day to day on site.
Yes you are encourage to take part or can take part in any other events that Tata take part in
