I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it allows me to develop and grow individually and within a team. Every day is different and there are many challenges within the role, yet I know that my team is always there to support. The culture within Tarmac is very good as you feel as part of a team/Community and networking is encouraged to enhance knowledge and experiences by talking to people within other areas of the business.
The programme is well structured. There are specific days I attend college for my level 5 course and during the two years there is a core skills programme which enhances skills and encourages networking. There is ongoing support from my line manager, my team, my mentor, programme facilitators and anyone else I may contact for support.
I receive a lot of support from my employer especially my line manager. We have bi weekly catch ups where we discuss objectives and any outstanding actions. We also communicate daily about various tasks and meetings to reflect and for me to gain advice/support when needed. My team as a whole is always there to support as well. We communicate daily about challenges we have face or are facing and support each other during meetings.
The college provides ongoing support especially the tutor who is always there to check work before submitting and offering feedback and support.
The qualification gave me a better understanding of HR as I didn't know much about the area. Working definitely helped a lot more as I was learning on the job, however, the qualification helped me back it up with theory and went through the fundamentals of HR and what impact certain decisions can have

It is a good Company to work for that provides ongoing support and wants it's employees to progress within the business and gain more experience.
Be yourself and show why you want to work for Tarmac. What attracted you to the Company and the role. Once successful, I think it's about taking every opportunity you are presented with and going outside of your comfort zone as that is when you will grow.
