  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I help with audits of big clients supporting more senior members of the team to perform tasks and i learn myself how to do them, i also study at college to better understand how to perform said tasks, i have started to take full ownership of my work as ive progressed.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I had zero base knowledge on auditing and accounting in general so i have learnt a significant amount during the 6 months i have currently been employed, i have learnt lots about the principles of accounting aswell as the process of an audit and what it entails from start to finish.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy being able to learn and develop, i find that i am learning everyday and improving which i appreciate because i understand that this knowledge will help me to progress in my career as an auditor from junior to a higher role so appreciate and therefore enjoy the programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is really well structured and organized, the path of development is clear and there are designated people i can go to for questions regarding the programme, they also guide me and tell me what is required of me to continue to progress in the programme which is really great.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my employer, they are always avaliable if i need some help or guidance, i have not required much support because it has all been clearly explained to me and i have no issues but if i was to have issues i know i would be supported.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive lots of support in terms of training towards qualifications, they are always willing to give study leave when necessary and help when struggling with exams because they acknowkledge how important they are to progress on the programme im on, this is very important to me which is great.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My training has helped explain parts of tasks i have been completing as an auditor but also the knowledge that i got from the studies has been easily applied to the work that i am doing on a day to day basis through my auditing which is really key to performing well.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are a lot of virtual social events as a result of covid which have been really good to take part in to meet team members in a less formal environment than the working on which gives an opportunity to make new friends which i really benefit from doing.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because the people that work here are really supportive and want to help you to develop in the role you are in, there is a good culture among teams and i feel really supported and feel that i have lots of opportunities to develop and grow which is key for me


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Make sure to be yourself in the application phases and show your true self as EY are looking for authentic individuals who will be able to improve the brand, dont pretend to be someone different as this will not help both parties as you are not representing yourself authentically and EY want employ authentic people.
