  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a team leader in a local pub, my job when taking over is to ensure my staff are aware of events that day and what to be expected off us all to have a smooth running shift. This could involve the opening of the pub as a shift or close of a shift.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learned so much, on different types of ways to manage staff different approaches that can be used and methods to create a good relationship with your team and boost confidence within a work force. How to deal confidently with staff who are experiencing maybe a hard time.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed every thing about the course, it was very challenging at times. I enjoyed learning the challenges we had to do example ; we had to plan an event which I loved been involved in especially for the kids, then we had to do a presentation on the event we had chosen.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was very well structured and organised with time limits for exercises and projects, which I feel keep me motivated and interested in the course. With visits at work place and then calls at home due to lock down where is still was able to complete my work to a good standard.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My Employer supported me in every aspect of this course. If it was not for his support I may have struggled. He pushed me and gave me the confidence to complete this as I had found some aspects of the course over whelming. If I was unsure on how to obtain information I needed he pointed me in the right direction on how to find this out for myself.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I felt in the beginning of this course I had all the support I needed from my trainer and I had a good repor with my trainer then we got lockdown and I still carryed on when we were aloud to continue but I feel the support was I needed was not as good I know it was different for everyone in this situation but I feel a little more communication would have been better.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification I have achieved will help me every day and has gave me such a better insight on management skills, dealing with people, the business, attitudes towards day to day running. I feel it has given me that extra bit of confidence in myself to handle different situations I may have not necessarily come across.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are extra curricular activities to get involved with at work, we have football events which are a very big part of our activities. We have quiz nights which are aust every week. Once a month we have hopefully soon all these events can come back our live band night which I love, and many more.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Greeneking are a brilliant company to work for and offer alot of extra opportunities to achieve extra qualifications in apprenticeships, to achieve and fulfill your goals and ambitions you may have within the company staring at the bottom and working your way as high as you feel capable with the support needed to achieve this.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • The advice I would give to others applying to Greene king would to be is if you want to achieve your goals in this industry you can do this with the help and support and can go as far as you want and to be your self. It is a very satisfying job.
