My role within my company is to carry out the processing of the sales orders for the company. This involves buying the products to fulfill orders, confirming to customers, customer services and monitoring all imports to the company. I also carry out admin tasks such as answering the phones, communicating with our offices reception and replenishing office supplies.
I had never studied business before my apprenticeship. I feel that I now have a wider knowledge of the fundamentals of business and how external factors can affect my industry. I feel that the apprenticeship helped me have a better understanding of my job role, why i carry out different roles and responsibilities and overall helped me become a more professional employee for the company.
I enjoyed the programme as it was easy to be able to carry out my daily work responsibilities and be able to carry out my apprenticeship within the time frames. I enjoyed the topics I was studying and by working as well as studying I was able to apply my knowledge as well as use specific work place examples for my coursework.
The tasks were all set out quite well in line with my work schedule and my business' financial year so that i could apply my knowledge. I would always have monthly check-ins with my tutor but these were flexible so that if needed we could rearrange so that all tasks were completed before discussing them and setting more and if i completed tasks early I was able to be set more so it worked with the learner and your pace of learning.
My employer always saw my apprenticeship as a priority and so always accommodated time in my work day for me to work through my tasks. They also provided me with any resources that I needed from day to day and always were there to support me with tasks by giving me knowledge or providing examples and resources from our own business.
My tutor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was extremely helpful. She was always available via email, phone or my apprenticeship portal and always spoke through tasks before setting me off to individually complete them. She always offered technical support and was with me every step of the apprenticeship. Even when I was facing issues with my exam coordinator I could seek comfort in her advice and she offered extra time and support to help me through my exam preparation.
Very well. It gives you multiple topics to learn from and molds you into being a better employee by teaching you about safeguarding, professionalism and importance of policies, just to name a few. By giving learners extra knowledge of the reasoning and the factors behind their daily work and tasks, it helps them apply themselves to their work as they understand it more
The company doesn't specifically offer extra-curricular activities but they are always accommodating to what the employee wants to pursue such as we have one person studying German with a tutor weekly and have offered me to continue with my business administrator studies. We do have social events ( pre-covid) and we do have opportunities for networking regularly when there is not a pandemic.
