  • My role is an apprentice technician, this involves using CAD software's to design models with the required information about the building

  • Yes, I have learnt how to use many new software's for building design, I have also learnt a lot about construction and how buildings are constructed and the elements they contain

  • Thoroughly

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has been very organised and set out from day one, an induction was given to give me starting guidance. If I am ever unsure what I need to be doing I can ask my mentor/ Line manager

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive the support I need from my employer, If I ever need any new softwares or hardwares I can request these through the system. If I am ever stuck I feel confident in talking to my manager

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get the support I need from my training officer. I can always email, phone him if I am ever stuck or confused and he will guide me in what I need to be doing . We have reviews every now and then to review my progress

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • What I am learning at college during my apprenticeship helps me massively. It helps to give sense to the building elements I am modelling and why things are in the places they are.

  • There are chats you can join which are focused to certain topics, e.g. DIY. There are also a sports and social committee which host events

  • Yes

  • Mott Macdonald has been a great company, I have settled really quickly and really feel like part of the team. I have gotten to know colleagues and new skills during work

  • Be yourself in the interview When starting be respectful to staff Try your hardest in the application
