  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm a kitchen manager and an assistant manager. I mange a large team of hard workers. I train them in the correct way of doing their job and manage the way they work and make sure they are working to their full potential and that the shift runs smoothly.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt a lot about how to profile customers, how to read customers and how to use that to my advantage to help raise our marketing strategy. I've learnt how to complete a full stock count. I've also learnt how to use our new booking system around Christmas time.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am learning a lot from this programme, I do struggle to take on new information, I'm a slow learner, but I really enjoy what I'm learning about and there are so many tools to help you learn.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is split into modules which i like. Its not a whole overload of learning at once. You can take your time with each module and make sure you absorb all the information. Its taught to us in a good manner.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Its a little difficult at the moment as I started my NVQ during the pandemic, so I've not had a lot on of the job training or help, but my manager is at the end of the phone if I need anything and has offered me with any help I need.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My trainer is a lovely lady who is always at the end of an email with help and support, I honestly could not have asked for a better person to help me on the journey.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It is helping me learn a lot more about my job role that I did not know I could learn. Its helping me become a better version of myself within the job role.

  • Its a little difficult for extra activities, my job role is very active.

  • Greene King is a fantastic company to work for. It supports all its staff members. Especially during the pandemic, i could not have asked for a better employee.
