  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • It was very insightful and was set up to prepare us for the world of work. There were a lot of speakers who spoke about their experiences at EY and the different routes they took to get there. They put a lot of effort into preparing the business academy, and due to Covid-19, it was made virtual, but it was still kept at a very high standard. There were a number of talks about the business world and tasks as well where we could talk to the people at EY and see what they do and gain tips for success. Overall, it was a great experience and a great insight into EY.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • There were talks about resilience, business writing & presentation skills and talks about tax and assurance. they were insightful and provided us with knowledge about how EY works and how the the world of business works in general. one particular example was that there were case studies provided which were quite realistic, and our task was to analyse them and comment on what we thought about them, in the way that they would do at EY, which was very interesting.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I really enjoyed my experience. It was very different to my previous work experiences, as EY provided us with a lot of knowledge as well as some practical experience. The application process itself was very different and educational. Hearing from a lot of different people from different backgrounds and positions within EY really opened my eyes to the possibilities there and they all had different things to offer and I thoroughly enjoyed the business academy.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • it was very well organised. Due to Covid-19, the program had to be made virtual, but even in that short time, they organised and planned it well and had to facilitate to a large group of people. Although there was less practical experience, due to it being virtual, they made up for this by providing us with a lot of knowledge. They really took our best interests into consideration and provided us with a wonderful experience.
