I provided refunds when necessary and inform the customer of the outcome of the investigation. This includes some times contacting the customer when necessary which is great to sustain a relationship with the customer, inform them about scams, and provide tips and some education on scams. This is making sure we do everything in our power to get the customer their money back. This also brings into account there are opportunities to go out in the public places such as the town and schools to educate the public on scams, and we get to talk to the customers with our This is along side our qualification we are undertaking.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • From my qualification and role, i have developed a lot of new skills, along with building strength in my character. The qualification has taught me, things like a little aspect such as working in a team has such a big picture in perspective to be a successful team, and if the team want to be the most efficient and effective as possible. The team leader needs to consider many points into consideration such as personalities in the group, motivation in the group etc... On the job it has increased my confidence as it allows me to speak to my customers from all backgrounds and all part of the world, learning about new things each and everyday, and building up that motivation the customers being always happy. Being able to speak to customers really builds up my confidence as i get speak to new people everyday which makes my social skills better. My role has really made me think about the bigger picture of the word. The world can be a big and scary place, and working in scams it put into perspective for me that fraudsters will go to any lengths to take your hard worked earned money away from you.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program exceeds my expectations. I though i was going to come into the business and just to a job, and work a qualification, it has challenged, shown me the real life of work, giving me changing and big responsibilities. This is as in such short space of time i have come such a long way. The culture of the company is amazing, people are always willing to help you. The people in the company would go out their way to come and help you when you need help. The team are stick together, in bad spells we all all in it together and we work to get ourselves out with a plan, we avoid the silo mentality at all cost, we focus on the future.

You also have your managers where you can turn to and plan out what can be done to help you.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support i receive from my employer is amazing. I though i was going to come into the company, told what to do and then get on with it. However it is nothing like that. we have daily meetings on how we are feeling and how we can make things better. We have 121 with our managers talking about any concerns and performance. The communication within the business as a whole is very effective, you are never left with not being clueless.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • Be yourself, working in this organisation its about you, and not the company. The process is really simple, the assessment day was far the most relaxing than i have been for other companies. There are fun team exercises that really takes your mind of being in an interview environment, and really makes you focus on yourself as an individual. The application process, you just need to make sure you stay on top of all the online tests, video interviews etc,, At the end of the process it will be all worth it !!!
