I often work with coding such as python for university work, and use the coding knowledge to help me code in azure data explorer, to help with pulling data out of the azure data cloud and help to use these to then create power BI dashboards to visualise the data
I believe I have massively improved my knowledge on coding and data. especially within python, I have done a bit of python previously in high school but never to the degree and level I have to do now in university. I have also learnt a lot about manufacturing and engineering while being at the company
I enjoy my programme a lot as I get a lot things of done and I have a variety in the work I do. I never just do one particular thing, I will be changing from working on PowerApps helping create apps for our company, to helping use power BI for visualisations, or just setting up training for others in the company so they can learn the skills too
I believe on an employee side of things the programme is very structured and laid out and I get a lot of pushes to try new things and a lot of leniency with my work. however on the university side of things, organisation of the course was poor at first but has managed to grow better and better throughout, learning from mistakes
I receive a lot of support from my employer, especially my line manager. they are always checking up on me to check if I am getting on okay with my work and she is constantly checking if my university work is going okay and if we need anymore communication between the three parts
we get a lot of help from our training providers when possible, especially when we are at York university as we can get face to face support if we are struggling with any of the work set. between blocks we cannot get as much help due to limits of emails but help is available when possible
I think my qualification is yet to show me any signs of really helping me in my role. my knowledge of coding has increased but as we are using python in university and not yet in my role, it is not really applicable to the role I do in work
I believe there are quite a few activites I could have gotten involved in within my work space. but being an introvert and breaking my leg at the start of the course, I did not mange to take part, however I would have liked to and I am sure there will be more to come
Yes
it is a great company who always look after their employees to ensure the best for their health and their safety. they make you feel welcome the second you join and is always a pleasure to be working for them. they allow you to branch out and try new things within the workspace
be yourself, be creative and kno what you are applying for. a lot of jobs sound similar but include different things so make sure you apply for something that suites you best. be confident in yourself and speak up during team exercises to show you have a leading voice in places where it matters
