  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My programme is rotational, I am currently in my Audit rotation. On a day to day basis, I carry out, audit testing, contacting clients, contacting third parties such as banks, reviewing financial statements and annual reports. I would also email our teams from around the world to share information or to instruct them on tasks to carry out.

  • I have learnt many skills since joining. I have developed my people skills and I am not confident with communicating and presenting data with not just clients, but my team and peers as well. I have developed my email skills, and I believe I am now able to write emails well depending on who I am communicating with. I have learnt brand new excel skills that I did not know before.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I would find many of my roles with data difficult without my training provider. My qualification heavily plays a role in my job, as the content overlaps with the client work that I carry out. therefore the qualification significantly helps me to perform my role much better due to this.

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Since working for KPMG, my personality has completely changed, I am now more confident when talking to people and I easily am able to make friends. in addition I have learnt so many transferable skills e.g. communication, emails, presentation skills. KPMG have many opportunities and really value their employees

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • The application process you need to think outside of the box for the questions, think of something that you know will wow the assessor. in addition, if you cannot, try a mainstream topic but put your own twist to it. Don't stress for the assessment centre, the interviewers are lovely and it feels more like a conversation. They will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable.
