  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My Role as an audit apprentice working with the audit department assisting the team on audit clients and carrying out the rest of the work with the team. I work on a range of client that we provide audits for and get involved in all the aspects of the audit work.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • There are a selection of new skills that I have learnt and improve while on my apprenticeship including the following; Organisation, communication, confidence, time management, It skills and importance of checking every task that has been carried out. Clear communication is important when interacting with all staff both KPMG staff and client contacts.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think my programme is great as it is has been a very valuable learning experience for me since the day I started as I am always given the opportunity to try something new or gain a new type of experience. While getting a deeper understanding with in the wider business world.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think from day one of joining the firm it is well planned and organised. There is a good team in place and they have taken on apprentice on for a long time so have got it down to fine art. While all staff are very supportive when joining the firm.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is always supporting regardless of what it is I need to ask or need support with. I feel like every time I have a questions there is always a department that I can reach to or a mailbox that I can contact to request the assistance I need at anytime. All staff are friendly and helpful.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has teamed up with a very good and established college and therefore there is always a tutor available when I required support with my studies. There is a coach who I can reach to for general questions and there is a designated tutor for each model for more technical questions. Along with catch up meeting to track your progress.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I benefit from the fact that my qualification help me to be more knowledge in my job and my job helps me to understand my studies more when seeing it in a real life situation. qualifications are extremely important as I feel like I learn the core principles through my study which I then apply to my practical work. This strengthens the quality of work I produce and gives me that boost of confidence to take on different tasks.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there is regularly forums and social events being offered to all apprentices for us to build our networking skills and to encourage to get involved and support our local communities. We are regularly encourage to be more socially active and to build our network at every opportunity possible to better our career. From your first day at KPMG you are encouraged to network with not just the staff in your office but all colleges at all offices. Which is a great idea.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • My experience has been great and I have developed and learn a lot. There would be no reason to not recommended it. The amount of support that we receive is amazing, we are encouraged to do the best that we can to take advantage of what's on offer. All staff across the firm are all very nice and helpful which is a real advantage.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Be confident and apply. Try your best at all tasks in the recruitment process and aim to be yourself and do not be scared it may be a big firm but they are all nice people. keep up to date with the firms website and connect with the core values.
