  • To ensure an effective microbiological, particle and physical monitoring programme is established and maintained. To provide technical advice with respect to clean room standards and advice on clean room discipline, good aseptic practice, associated cGMPs, and their impact on procedures/manufacture. Deviation management. To assist in major failure investigations ensuring recommendations for product disposition are made and documented. To provide training and coaching of personnel. Perform MSDM documentation updates. Self-inspections and observations. Batch review. OCM Change control management To ensure an effective aseptic gowning and Operator Media Trial programme is established and maintained To ensure high environmental standards are maintained in production and/or QC testing in clean rooms. To participate in regulatory and internal audits and inspections. Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submissions

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've developed further understanding of science industry and mechanisms on how drugs work. I've learnt some industrial knowledge on how sterilisation works on autoclaves etc. New skills I've developed is being flexible supporting uni and work needs. Communication skills and presenting skills. Also how LEAN projects work and understanding the fundamental's around them. Everything I've learnt during my work experience has been backed up by the theory I have learnt.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • With the freedom of managing my own workload and interesting topics, it has been a very enjoyable programme and would recommend to anyone. I've also met loads of new people through the course as well as gaining new skills and knowledge which will allow me to excel my career.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The online moodle is organised well, however there's not much around navigating the portal etc so takes some getting use too. The summer schools was very well organised and get me busy throughout the visit.

  • Any support I need I can request. Specifically they support my exams by providing a room and invigilator.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not a great deal. I feel like its left to your own devices. Regular meetings pencilled in however get cancelled.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel this Is one of the key benefits for me. The theory behind things I do means im better at my role as I can provide more information as to why things are done. Also means people are more likely to respect my opinion as I understand why some works the way it does.

  • Occasional football after work.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • AstraZeneca is a great place to work and provides lots of opportunities to progress. It also has a development plan for each employee. So the world is your oyster. With AZ being a large company it means there are plenty of areas to explore where you'd like to work in.

  • Understand what AstraZeneca do and think of there values and behaviours.
