  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In terms of the work that is provided my EY themselves, the programme is very well structured. There is specific work to be given to the apprentices, and there is high levels of support within the team should anyone struggle. However, the programme run by the training provides QA has not always been perfect, but is overall good.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a lot of support within the team. We have a "counselling family" and each person is assigned with a counsellor with whom they are able to share thought with about work, and there are regular meetings with the counsellor to ensure that everyone is getting along well. Additionally, within the team there are many experts who can help with work and specific software programmes. Overall, levels of support are very high.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is a satisfactory level of support from QA limited, it depends on who is running the module as this changes. Some of the course leaders are very helpful, and very supportive while others are not. There have been a few issues with QA in the past, and the resources they provide are quite poor and can be improved. Overall, QA is not too bad, but support levels could improve.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification from the training provider helps a lot, as it helps understand many aspects of the team and of work. For example the first module, understanding systems development had a lot of things directly linked to the way that the team works, such as agile, which helped gain a better understanding of the way in which the team operates. Each module so far has been linked to my role in some way.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • EY is one of the best industries to begin with for someone who is looking to get into the world of financial services. It gives a broad perspective of the type of things to expect, how these companies works, the sort of roles that exist, and particularly in my team gives an insight into the newest technologies.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Make sure to read up on the company and some of the recent things that they have been doing. Don't be to nervous, just ensure you have a rough idea of what your role is and don't panic if you don't know too much yet because no one does.
