  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am part of alliance and ecosystems in team Innovation Technology Transformation Team. On a day to day I scan the horizon for new potential alliances, help to form alliances and knowledge share what I've learnt back to the wider team. I also work with the Quality and Risk Management team to ensure the alliances we form are as risk free as possible.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have found I am much more comfortable leading meetings and talking to senior management around what I have been working on. My communication in emails has also improved and I generally feel I understand more about the world of business through my time at EY. Each day I think I learn something new.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme it has allowed me to fast track my career by combining my studying with work. I feel as though they go hand in hand as I witness in person the concepts I learnt about from my degree. I feel as though this is a huge step up from a plain degree and I enjoy it a lot!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We have all our dates of exams and workshops well in advance which is very useful. We are also kept in the loop of what is going on so this seems quite structured. The work side is a very structured environment as I meet with my manager weekly and we go through the work I will be doing each week

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have had amazing support from EY. When I needed some documents to complete my assignment they sent them over straight away. They also make sure to constantly check in on how we are finding the apprenticeship and when I am away studying they fully support this and let us work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The tutors are very helpful and all the questions I have are answered straight away. One thing I have found is that feedback on assignments is not sent back to us very quickly and this can make it hard to complete my work on time. But otherwise workshops are good

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have seen numerous times how my qualifications links to my work and it is really great to be able to put into practise the work I have learnt at university. I think sometimes the work doesn't link to my role but overall its really helpful and relevant for me

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many activities! we have numerous networks at EY such as charity, sports, socials and more. It is very easy and welcoming to join a network and I think it's great to see people take time out of their lives to connect with colleagues on non-work related activities

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think EY is an amazing organisation making immense positive change to the world. EY has the ability to reach so many organisations to help and they do! The brand 'Building a better working world' is honestly true as EY spend huge amounts of time connecting with the world to help out

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Be yourself - EY is all about how you interact with others on a genuine level. EY is a place for people who love people. Yes academic skills are important but they are not the most important. If you are someone who wants to change the world and make positive differences this is for you!
