1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

8/10

This changes every day as not every day is the same. As i am currently in tax, this could be anything from liaising with clients to completing tax computations. theres is a lot of work with excel and other Microsoft tools. Its hard work but to be honest i enjoy it.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

8/10

Yes, I have expanded on my excel skills a lot whilst working here as a lot of the work is done on excel. I have learnt to how to project manage whilst working here at KPMG which is a skill i dont think i would have easily gained anywhere else.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

6/10

I enjoy my programme a lot as it gives me a salary and qualifications related to my career plans whilst giving me study support. There are some inefficiencies in regards to the training provider policies while studying however the actual day to day aspect of the programme is pretty good.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

8/10

The programme is very well organised and structured as its a 5/6 year programmed with points where you can drop off the programme and go into a full time role in the firm. Only a small issue but one thing i would point out is the training provider could be a lot better and the training policies in place as sometimes there is no logic behind some of the decisions made.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

10/10

There is a tremendous level of support available from the firm as senior employees at all level are sympathetic and understanding when we have exams and usually support us to ensure we have enough time to study for an exam.

The firm also has an anonymous employee helpline for those that need support with life/general stuff.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

10/10

There is a tremendous level of support available from the firm as senior employees at all level are sympathetic and understanding when we have exams and usually support us to ensure we have enough time to study for an exam.

We are encouraged to put our study before our day job to ensure we are maximizing the training and learning offered

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

9/10

The qualifications that we do are directly related to all of the job roles that i have been in during my time at the firm. They have all helped me to understand a lot of the context of my day job. for example studying about business tax whilst in the corporation tax team helped my performance as i understood things better.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

9/10

There is a vast range of extra curricular activities to get involved in here, these range from networking events, very regular social events with our teams, and time we get to volunteer to help a charity that we believe in. There are lots of things to do here and there is definitely something for everyone.

9b. Why?

The amount of support that we receive is amazing, we are encouraged to do the best that we can to take advantage of whats on offer.
