  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis i assist the communications team with their daily roles, this includes sorting through consent forms to ensure images can be used and if there is no form for someone getting one filled out from them, updating the structure charts/starters and leavers and getting photos from staff members for the online contact list.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a range of new skills since starting the job from basic things such as how to use more features in excel and publisher, book meetings using outlook and planon while also learning how to ordering catering for events and ordering posters , leaflets etc through the print studio.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It is enjoyable, there are a range of things to learn and do which keeps it interesting for example sometimes going out of the office to visit other areas and venues while meeting other teams within the university of oxford, doing this keeps it interesting as there is often new places to see and things to learn about.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is fairly organised, my manager has a good idea of what i need to do within my role to pass the qualification which means i will be always working towards it even in my day to day job but the college have not been organised about setting up times / dates for when i will start training.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer offer me as much support as i need, i feel confident in my role that if i need an support they would be able to offer it, they also have a few things in place if you are not happy with the support which means something should be done if you are unhappy with the support you get.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i have not started training for my qualification yet at the college as they are being slow about enrolling me for the course i have not really started much of the training but i have been given basic information about what i will be doing meaning i am able to start thinking about it and i have started on the job training which has been good so far.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i have not started training for my qualification yet at the college as they are being slow about enrolling me for the course i have not really started much of the training so i am unable to answer this but i am sure the qualification will give me a wider range on knowledge to help me.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are a range or events organised throughout the year, although i have not attended any i have been told about a rang of activities teams organise through out the year as team building exercises and events to meet people you dont usually have much contact with in your day to day role.

  • Yes

  • They offer support and ensure you are happy within your role, i feel confident in my role that if i need an support they would be able to offer it, they also try and give you a range of task to do to keep the role interesting while you learn new things.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to University of Oxford?
  • When applying to the university of oxford tailor you application to them to ensure it is not general, try and included as much detail as possible and make sure you cv is accurate. Always be honest and confident in your application and try and sell the best bits about you.
